Surf check at the pier, check out the set breaking on the other side

Man its been getting cold, real cold in the mornings.. frost on the sand sorta cold. But all week Spencerville or "The Ville" as we've affectionately been calling it has been turning it on with clean peaky waves, reeling rights and wally lefts and consistantly 3ft or over too. This day it was actually double over head out the back.....

Mason carve to champ Photo credit Daisy Day

The wind was howling, and the waves tricky, but once again Sarah Mason has won the chance to compete against the top girls in the main WCT event in Taranaki. In gusty offshore conditions and a one to two metre swell at New Plymouth's Fitzroy Beach, Sarah scored a 9.5 on one of her waves in the final - the highest scoring wave of the day in the...

Parko classic Bells bottom turn

In solid 6-8ft pumping waves at Torquay, Parko was Leaving little to chance in the highly-anticipated Final, He opened up with an 8.53 on the first ride of the heat and drove the nail into the coffin with a Perfect 10 right on the buzzer. It was an incredible display of power, control, and poise with critical surfing in solid surf.

Hickory Easter hunt is a success

This easter has really thrown the swell our way, like always, and hicks was pumping. Double overhead sets were coming through and we were stoked, if not slightly on alert for those monster close up sets that hickory is renound for on the big swells,ha ha!! Hickory hardley ever dissapoints and with next to nill crowds it'd have to be my...

With a big south swell running up the coast, a day full of stuff to do, we shot up to Kuku for what we thought would be a few fun ones.. it ended up being a monster paddle, but once we got out the back, and with steam rising of the waves in a slightest of an offshore, it was way cleaner than it looked and we manages to snaffle a few good ones...

Waikuku

Waikuku has become the new christchurch local spot, with sometimes masses of people heading up that way to get free of the toilet water back home, and tuck a couple of waves under their belt. This was last Sunday, it was clean as, a little fatish to start with but some really fun lines, and workable walls

A few weeks back we headed south, it was the rememberance long weekend and we just had to get out of town to score some surf. We got to Dunedin and the waves were a punchy 3ft, the water was clean and we were stoked. All our surfing was done north side, and pick of the bunch was an early mish on the 3rd day northward to a wee reef that just...

Barron Hog Monster Mash Spray

Heres a little behind the scenes look into a custom spray I did on my Barron Hog 5'10". After trying out a few boards first, i knew this board would be sick, it's fast, loose and hell fun... so i went with the stoked "hell yeah" script and monster mash stencils to match the crazyness of the look of the board.

So anyway,...
